Goal & Vision
100Kin10 partners have committed to strategically addressing the nation's shortage of STEM teachers and improving STEM learning for all students by training 100,000 excellent science, technology, engineering, and math teachers over the next decade.
100Kin10 is united by a single, ambitious goal:
To prepare all students with the high-quality STEM knowledge and skills needed to tackle the most pressing national and global challenges of tomorrow. We aim to meet this goal by responding to our country’s need for 100,000 new, excellent STEM teachers over 10 years.
100Kin10 partners address this need by:
• Increasing the supply of excellent STEM teachers
• Hiring, developing, and retaining excellent STEM teachers
• Building the 100Kin10 movement
All partners bring content expertise and programmatic or funding capacity to advance the initiative. The University of Chicago Urban Education Institute and Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education (UofC) is designing an ambitious R&D platform that will generate rigorous analysis of data and spotlight promising hypotheses and proven successes, thereby enabling continuous improvement across all partners.
100Kin10 is focused on excellence.
Through this collaborative effort, we aim to dramatically increase the quantity and quality of STEM teachers so that all students have access to first-rate STEM learning and so that we can reverse our nation’s decades-long decline in math and science. Learn more about becoming a partner here.
100Kin10 invites everyone to join the movement. Teach, donate, or participate to get involved today.
